The Grassroots Expo: A Weekend of Conversation for the Cannabis Curious
This weekend, the cannabis curious will converge on Vancouver for the Grassroots Expo, presented by the Georgia Straight.
The event will connect the public to Canada’s leading cannabis educators, brands, and start-up companies for an intimate conversation about the where this emerging industry is and where it’s heading as our country prepares for legalization.
The event will feature exhibit halls filled with businesses showcasing their products and services, as well as over 50 panelists with unique stories and expertise to share.
These experts in their field will impart important knowledge about topics, including how patients can benefit from medical cannabis, how the flower can be an effective tool in dealing with pain management, how female leaders are shaping the future of the industry, and how big dreamer entrepreneurs are eager to change the stigma surrounding cannabis.
Our CEO Barinder Rasode will be speaking on the panel ‘What new laws mean for you: Driving, youth restrictions, and more’. The panel also features Farrell Anne Miller, a graduating student from UBC’s Allard School of Law, Scott Bernstein a lawyer and Senior Policy Analyst with the Canadian Drug Policy Coalition, and moderator Piper Courtenay, a writer with the Georgia Straight.
The panel will discuss what patients and consumers can expect after the country legalizes recreational cannabis. They will dissect and define some of the most important changes to federal and provincial legislation.
The event also includes a number of breakout sessions focused on areas such as consumer matters, and how CBD can help with your pet’s health care.
And, you know that any event presented by the Georgia Straight is going to produce thought-provoking conversations and healthy debate. The Straight has been a fixture in Vancouver culture for the past 50 years, allowing independent voices to be heard and celebrated.
It’s a weekend you don’t want to miss. Join the conversation and head to UBC Robson Square in downtown Vancouver on April 7 and 8. Check out the full schedule of panels and speakers.
